Joining the Test Department and reporting to the Test Engineering Manager, the Test Engineer will be responsible for testing electro-optical-mechanical components, sub-assemblies, assemblies, and systems. The role includes recording results accurately, flagging issues to the engineering team, and carrying out fault-finding to diagnose production or design issues.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Undertaking Factory Acceptance Tests using standard workshop test equipment such as power supplies, digital multi-meters, and oscilloscopes.
2. Assist in creating test procedures and FAT documents.
3. Fault-find electromechanical equipment.
4. Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical personnel.
5. Adhere to company procedures, policies, and goals.
6. Follow health & safety regulations and guidelines at all times.
7. Follow procedures as specified in the Quality Manual.
8. Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation in accordance with ISO 9001 standards.
9. Maintain a clean and orderly office and workshop environment.
10. Support continuous improvement activities.
11. Assist in supporting field service when required.
Skills & Experience:
1. Excellent knowledge of manual testing of electrical and electro-mechanical systems.
2. Ability to write comprehensive test plans and FAT documents for new product launches.
3. Ability to read complex technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and PCB schematics.
4. Support production and quality activities as needed.
5. ONC or equivalent in Electronics Engineering.
6. Experience with manual testing and system integration.
7. Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
8. PCB testing and fault-finding experience.
9. Good knowledge of digital camera and video protocols.
10. Knowledge of automated test software.
11. PLC programming skills.
12. Experience with CAD packages.
13. Knowledge of communication protocols and networking infrastructure.
