*PRESS OFFICER - SUSTAINABILITY
Company*
When it comes to innovation and achievement there are few organisations with a better track record than us. Over the last 30 years, we have changed the way people travel, leading the way in the short haul airline market across the UK and Europe. With a growing fleet of over 300 aircraft, annual passenger numbers in excess of 85 million and an unparalleled network of over 1,000 routes, our aim is to make travel easy and affordable for our customers. Then it's our people and passion which set us apart. Highly talented, forward-thinking people with a real sense of fun. We are generation easyJet, joined together by our "Orange Spirit".
easyJet aims to be a good corporate citizen, employing people on local contracts in eight countries across Europe in full compliance with national laws and recognising their trade unions. The airline supports several local charities and has a corporate partnership with UNICEF which has raised over £17m for the most vulnerable children since it was established in 2012. The airline also takes sustainability seriously and in 2022, published its roadmap to net zero carbon emissions by 2050, aiming to decarbonise through the development and use of new technology and solutions over the coming decades. As an airline, we have an interim carbon emissions intensity reduction target of 35% by 2035, which is validated by the SBTi. Since 2000, the airline has already reduced its carbon emissions per passenger, per kilometre by one-third.
