We are currently recruiting a Material Controller to join the Planning and Logistics Department of a well-established precision machining company based in Coventry. This is a temporary-to-permanent opportunity, with an immediate start available for the right candidate.
Working Hours
Monday to Thursday:
1. Standard hours: 7:30am – 4:30pm
2. Flexible start times available: 6:00am, 6:30am or 7:00am
Friday:
3. Standard hours: 7:30am – 12:30pm
4. Flexible start times available: 6:00am, 6:30am or 7:00am
Pay
£14.00 per hour
Key Responsibilities
5. As a Material Controller, your duties will include:
6. Ensuring the Goods In, Stores and Despatch areas operate efficiently to support the manufacturing process
7. Operating mechanical handling equipment, including a counterbalance forklift truck, and an automatic billet saw
8. Liaising with internal departments, suppliers, and customers to coordinate deliveries
9. Managing despatch activities with the Planning Manager, ensuring goods are packed correctly and company standards are maintained
10. Providing material availability information to support new sales orders
11. Purchasing non-production materials and acting as the main point of contact with suppliers
12. Maintaining positive working relationships to support effective teamwork
Experience & Skills Required
13. 3–4 years’ experience in material handling and coordination within a manufacturing environment
14. Previous stores experience, ideally including quality control
15. Experience with goods in, including booking in deliveries
16. Some experience purchasing direct and indirect materials
17. Ability to use measuring equipment, including verniers and micrometres
18. PC literate, with basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word
