Overview of the Role

A Senior Architect (Residential) is required to join a well-established architectural practice based in Clerkenwell, London. This role offers the opportunity to lead design-led residential projects for national housebuilders and private developers across the UK.

The Senior Architect (Residential) will play a key role within the practice’s residential team, taking responsibility for the delivery of complex housing schemes across multiple RIBA stages. The position requires strong leadership, technical coordination, and the ability to manage relationships with consultants, clients, and contractors.

This Senior Architect (Residential) role is suited to an experienced ARB registered architect with a strong background in UK residential architecture. You will be responsible for maintaining design quality while ensuring projects remain technically robust, commercially realistic, and compliant with UK regulations.

The role offers the opportunity to work on medium to large-scale residential developments within a collaborative and design-focused studio environment.

The practice is an established multidisciplinary architecture studio with more than 120 architects, designers, and creatives working across three UK offices. The Clerkenwell studio works closely with colleagues in other locations to deliver projects across residential, commercial, and mixed-use sectors.

Residential architecture forms a significant part of the practice’s portfolio. The team works with major UK housebuilders and private developers on a range of housing projects, including large-scale residential developments and multi-phase masterplans.

Projects typically span all RIBA stages, from early feasibility and planning through to detailed technical delivery and construction. The practice maintains a strong focus on ensuring that design quality is supported by robust technical coordination and practical delivery strategies.

Architects and technologists collaborate closely throughout project lifecycles. This integrated approach ensures design concepts remain deliverable while meeting the requirements of UK Building Regulations, national space standards, and planning policies.

The Clerkenwell studio provides a collaborative working environment where architects contribute to design development, technical delivery, and project leadership. Hybrid working arrangements are supported following completion of probation.
