West Suffolk Hospital's Neurology Department is looking for a nurse to work within the Parkinson's Disease (PD) service.

The successful candidate will work alongside the Neurology Consultants and 2 other PD nurses. They will support patients with Parkinson's Disease throughout their journey.

We are looking for someone who is committed to ongoing service development and change. The role will cover inpatient, community and clinic settings to deliver the highest quality care in settings across Suffolk.

Training from the team will be available and options for further training can be discussed with the team.

Person Specification


Education and qualifications

* 1st Level NMC Registered Nurse
* Non-medical prescribing qualification or willingness to undertake.
* END 998/Equivalent
* Educated to a degree level or working towards one.


Experience and knowledge

* Experience of working within Neurology and with PD Patients
* Clinical knowledge of current developments in NSF for long term conditions
* Commitment to undertake further specialist training
* Knowledge of change management process
* Initiation and evaluation of research based practice
* Ability to develop nursing excellence and clinical practice
* Managerial responsibility
* Clinical audit
* Standard setting and protocol development


Skills and abilities

* Excellent organisational skills
* Evidence of professional development and its relevant application
* Ability to record and deal with accurate facts, figures and information.
* Excellent written, verbal communication and presentation skills.
* Ability to plan, organise, prioritise and coordinate work under pressure using own initiative
* Ability to problem solve.
* Ability to establish effective working partnerships with members of the multi‑professional team. Ability to communicate effectively with key stakeholders within and outside the trust.
* Experience of developing, training and education in clinical practice
