Our Safer Neighbourhood Team (SNT) in Mole Valley would like to welcome volunteers who want to make a difference by helping keep local communities informed of policing activity and connected through friendly, regular engagement.

The Role & Key Responsibilities
Join our policing family and help make a real difference in your community. It is our mission to protect vulnerable people, prevent harm and keep people safe and you can play a key role in achieving that.
As a Safer Neighbourhood Volunteer you will be at the heart of community engagement. Your role will include:
1. Building positive relationships with local communities and helping to challenge misconceptions about policing
2. Using online platforms and social media to share updates and promote the work of the SNT
3. Supporting and coordinating community events such as drop-in centres, ‘meet the beat’ surgeries and partnership days
4. Connecting with local watch schemes like Neighbourhood Watch and assisting with reviewing local crime information to create clear, informative community updates.

Skills & Experience
As a Safer Neighbourhood Volunteer, community engagement will be at the heart of your role. You will need strong communication skills and the ability to connect with people through a variety of channels, including social media.
Working closely with the team, you will bring excellent organisational skills to plan and coordinate key tasks and events within local communities.
You should also feel confident using ICT systems, as the role involves working with Microsoft Office programs, incident reporting tools and community messaging platforms.
