Job Description Finance Assistant – Permanent– based in Milton Keynes, MK1 Job Purpose: We are seeking a proactive and innovative Finance Assistant to join our dynamic finance team. Supporting smooth finance operations in a fast-paced environment. This hands-on role involves managing procurement, supplier relationships, and financial accuracy across finance and operations teams. Main Duties and Responsibilities: Review payable invoices for accuracy and potential errors or fraud. Obtain payment approvals from senior stakeholders. Accurately load invoices for payment and ensure proper accounting treatment and cost allocation. Identify and implement process improvements using AI tools. Monitor and follow up on overdue invoices. Escalate debt concerns and explore AI-driven prioritisation and reminder systems. Manage employee expense processes and improve them through automation. Perform bank reconciliations and invoice matching. Support month-end processing tasks. Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and implement process improvements. Participate in various ad-hoc projects and tasks as required. Person Specification: We are looking for a candidate who demonstrates the following qualities: Strong Excel skills and a keen interest in AI and automation. A love for working with numbers and solving problems. High level of accuracy and organizational skills. A proactive approach to exploring new technologies and methods. Strong ethics and integrity in financial activities. Ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines. Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with colleagues. Experience: A degree or experience in Accounting & Finance is preferred. AAT Level 2/3 or working toward qualification. Familiarity with AI tools and automation processes is a plus. Hours of Work: This is a full-time position with standard working hours. Work Location: The role is based in a modern office environment with excellent facilities.
