Specialist Clinical Pharmacist
0.8 WTE Band 7 (30 hours)
We are excited to offer the opportunity for an experienced, innovative and highly motivated pharmacist to join our pharmacy team. As an integral member of the pharmacy team, you will provide person-centred, safe and effective clinical pharmacy service to patients across all specialties at Inverclyde Royal Hospital.
You will:
- Be part of our team helping to develop patient focused clinical services to a variety of surgical specialties.
- Work in our surgical wards and will have regular rotations within our critical care unit attending daily ward rounds and working closely with the MDT as well as participating in GGC wide perioperative clinics.
- Be an active member of the multidisciplinary team participating in team meetings, research and quality improvement.
- Support the development of our technical staff and foundation pharmacists and trainees.
- Act as a source of information and prescribing support providing information on all aspects of drug use including patient safety and contributing to strategic plans for modern pharmacy services.
The department is committed to a programme for Supporting Professional Activities time that allows our team to undertake learning and development in line with the RPS Framework pillars and opportunities to advance your clinical practice in line with the Advanced Practice Curriculum are encouraged.
You must be a registered pharmacist with GPhC and have completed Post-registration Pharmacist Foundation Training (or equivalent experience). You will be expected to have completed or be working towards the Independent Prescriber qualification.
Inverclyde Royal Hospital is a district General Hospital situated in Greenock. We have an excellent team of friendly pharmacy staff committed to improving patient care, particularly ward based medicines management, pharmacist prescribing and e-health initiatives.
This post will include participation in weekend, public holiday, extended hours and on call shifts.
