Site Assistant
Location: Pontefract

Pay: £17-£18.50 per hour

start: ASAP

Full Time |7-3, 9-5, 12-20, this would be on rotation with three other site team members.

We are seeking a reliable and proactive Site Assistant to join a busy Estates team in Pontefract. Reporting to the Estate Supervisor, you will play a key role in maintaining a safe, secure and welcoming environment for students, staff and visitors.

The Role

You will support the day-to-day maintenance, security and presentation of the college buildings and grounds, ensuring high standards are consistently met.

Key responsibilities include:

Opening and closing buildings and maintaining site security

Carrying out minor repairs and general maintenance

Supporting health & safety procedures and supervising contractors on site

Maintaining clean, tidy grounds (grass cutting, weeding, litter clearance)

Assisting with room setups and distribution of goods

Responding to first aid incidents and maintaining first aid supplies

Supporting recycling and waste management initiatives

Being available for occasional emergency call-outs and up to two evening events per year

What We're Looking For

Experience in general maintenance and confident use of basic DIY tools

Good communication skills and a customer-focused approach

Awareness of Health & Safety practices

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Willingness to undertake relevant training, including First Aid (if not already qualified)

A flexible, proactive and common-sense approach

Experience in a school or college environment and/or first aid experience is desirable.

You must be willing to attend a registration interview.All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date
