Starting salary £25,000 - £27,000
We're looking for a great communicator who can inspire land managers to take action for nature and the climate by creating a tree-rich corridor from the Wye to the Wyre.
Worcestershire Wildlife Trust is looking for a skilled and enthusiastic person to help deliver our Trees Call for Action Fund, Severn Treescapes: Wye to Wyre, connecting nature and people project. This is a well-established collaborative partnership with Gloucestershire and Herefordshire Wildlife Trusts and the successful applicant will help us to deliver a 60 mile corridor of enhanced tree cover to connect two of England’s largest semi-natural woodlands, from the Lower Wye Valley to the Wyre Forest.
The Trees and Woodland Advisor will join an established team to deliver advisory visits and support to farmers and land managers interested in benefitting from grant support for trees and woodland, including hedgerows, wood pasture, traditional orchard and agroforestry grant funding.
We’re looking for someone with a strong understanding of woodland and trees outside woodland and the grants schemes available to support these. They will be able to communicate confidently to engage and motivate farmers and landowners to get involved in this ground-breaking and unique project, working closely with the project team and with existing teams across the organisations. This is a unique role where you really do have the opportunity to add value and make a positive difference to the natural world.
This is a fixed term post that ends 31st March 2025. We offer life Insurance, a generous pension scheme, hybrid working, farm office location with free parking, tea, coffee and kitchen facilities and time off in lieu (TOIL) for overtime worked.
Closing date: 5pm Friday 26th April 2024
Interview date: Thursday 9th May 2024
