Marketing Executive - Sports - Teamsports and B2B

Role Description

As our Teamsports channel (Schools, Rugby and Netball) continues to expand we are looking for an enthusiastic team player with a passion for sports and/or digital marketing.

This role plays a critical part in driving the performance and reputation of the company with our teamsports website, school webshops (Direct to Individual) and B2B customers (UK Retail and International Distributors).

* Working with relevant stakeholders to implement and evolve the Grays (Gilbert) Team Sports brand plan - elevating our profile and market position, ultimately leading to stronger leads and an enhanced reputation.
* Collaborating closely with internal brand leads to promote and develop our owned brands for the school's audience (DTI).
* Collaborating closely with UK & International sales teams to promote and provide key marketing assets to promote the Gilbert brand to these relevant channels (B2B).
* Working closely with our e-commerce lead and internal sales managers to deliver an excellent customer journey, service and experience across our e-commerce store/s and digital channels.

A varied role that will include the management of our schools marketing mix, e-commerce, social media, content generation and partnership activations for the Schools market and www.graysteamsports.com

This is a full-time, entry level role with the opportunity to grow, and so the ideal candidate would have recently graduated with a keen interest in Sports and a strong understanding of Digital Marketing.

Role requirements

* Fluent spoken and written English to a high business standard
* Educated to a degree level, or equivalent
* A passion for Sports (Rugby, Netball ideally) and deep knowledge of the school sports environment desirable.
* Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook / Excel / Word / PowerPoint / PowerBi)
* Nice to have: Shopify and Klaviyo knowledge and a keen grasp of social media


Key Responsibilities


E-Commerce

* Ownership of Teamsports website and branded webshops, maximising customer experience
* Working alongside our E-Commerce lead to maximise sales through merchandising, improve and evolve customer UX
* Maximise our sales of personal equipment to our (independent) schools and clubs audience
* Create engaging copy across product, content and landing pages
* Analyse & optimise the customer journey and our digital channels with particular focus on:
* Traffic source, core school compulsory purchases and upselling hard wear product


Digital Marketing

* Collaborate with the brand leads to plan & deploy relevant social and brand content to promote our market leading playing equipment
* Work closely with Digital Marketing & CRM to use data to inform campaign planning and compilation
* Collaborating closely with UK & International sales teams to promote and provide key marketing assets to promote the Gilbert brand to these relevant channels (B2B).
* Generate interest and leads for our brands in the independent schools sector for our sales team to engage and convert
* Plan and create email marketing campaigns, including automated workflows to maximise upselling opportunities and customer retention
* Collaborate with brand leads to create schools specific marketing and knit this together with wider sport marketing plans
* Work with Studio to create graphic, video and photo content


Brand Development

* Compile and execute the annual teamsports marketing plan
* Maximise sales through merchandising and improved customer UX
* Work with external stakeholders to develop existing and new partnerships
* Work with sales managers & external stakeholders to develop existing and new partnerships
* Take lead on developing brand values on projects such as sustainability and social issues
* Work alongside our sales team to nurture and grow our valuable teamsports relationships
* Attend and run events where necessary


Accountabilities

To make sure that all contracts, accounts and relationships are handled in a friendly and professional manner to ensure links are healthy, effective and beneficial. To help ensure that company and personal objectives are met.


About You

Role Expertise, Qualifications, Skills and Knowledge Required.

Must haves:

* Digital marketing experience
* Knowledge of the online conversion funnel: Acquire, Engage, Desire, Action
* Experience of delivering excellent marketing emails to consumers
* Can Do Attitude to all tasks undertaken
* Experience of planning and executing content across multiple channels, both online and offline
* Organised, calm and results driven
* Good team player
* Ability to work autonomously

Nice to haves:

* An understanding of the independent (private) school sector
* A good level of knowledge of the sports sector(s) in which we supply goods
* Experience of analysing the success of marketing campaigns and digital channel effectiveness
* Shopify, Klaviyo and graphics packages desirable but not essential.
