BAE SYSTEMS Surface Ships - Hunter class Frigate
BAE Systems Naval ships are looking for an Electrical Engineer with the following experience:
* Preferably a maritime background
* Reviewing Electrical cable schedules
* Reviewing cable diagrams
* Preferably experience using CMPIC (main software used in this role)
The role applies an understanding of a range of design processes, tools, systems, and techniques, and applies these to design or detail assemblies, components, or systems. The engineer designs and develops solutions to common or well-articulated design situations, problems, and issues.
Core Activities
* Ensure effective application of processes, supporting design, modifications, and improvements in areas such as:
* LV Distribution, QPS, and Electrical Safety
* LV Protection Systems and Earthing Systems
* LV Cabling and Cable routing
* Converted Supplies
* Portable Apparatus and Domestic Supplies
* Aviation Support
* General and Special Lighting
* Hull Preservation Systems
* Degaussing
Key Accountabilities
* Develop design specifications under guidance and carry out design activities in line with specifications and standards, producing outputs like schematic diagrams, calculations, and specifications.
* Participate in developing and maintaining engineering processes and procedures.
* Conduct technical analyses, evaluate options, and prepare reports with recommendations.
* Prepare technical equipment specifications and develop mechanical designs according to standards.
* Contribute to process improvements to enhance quality, cycle time, and asset utilization.
* Liaise with customers and suppliers on engineering matters.
* Support less experienced team members and contribute to team decisions.
* Make technical decisions within own responsibility and handle technical queries appropriately.
Qualifications and Knowledge
* Degree in a technology, engineering, or science discipline.
* Working towards registration as an Incorporated Engineer or Chartered Engineer with the Engineering Council.
* Good knowledge of current discipline aspects.
* Ability to perform analysis with recognized tools and make sound judgments.
* Sufficient capability for trade-off decisions.
* Effective verbal and written communication skills with management and peers.
