NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and job roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.

The shift pattern for this post is Monday -Friday 9am-5pm, no on call

This is a Fixed term post for 2 years.

Applications are invited for a Clinical Development Fellow who has completed at least FY2 for the above post. This is a ten session post based in Inverclyde HSCP.

This is an exciting opportunity to join our dynamic team in General Adult Psychiatry in Greater Glasgow and Clyde. The successful applicant will play a prominent role in providing inpatient care and treatment for severe and enduring mental health conditions in General Adult Psychiatry supported by an enthusiastic CMHT and Consultant Psychiatrists. The post is based at Inverclyde Royal Hospital, Greenock and will mostly involve providing care within the Acute Assessment Unit (AAU). Opportunities for further training and development are strongly encouraged.

Ideally applicants would be doctors who have an interest in progressing a career in psychiatry and come with a broad general professional training including General Medicine or GP vocationally trained doctors who wish to gain further General Adult Psychiatry experience.

There is no on-call or out of hours work associated with this post which is 9-5 Monday to Friday working out of the Langhill Clinic at Inverclyde Royal Hospital, Greenock. To practice medicine in the UK you need to hold both GMC registration and a licence to practice. The post is open primarily to applicants who do not require a work permit to take up employment in the UK. Any applicants who do require a work permit will be considered only if no suitable UK or EEA national is identified for the posts.
