We are seeking an Animal Care Technician IIto join our In Vivo Sciences team within Regeneron Cell Medicines. You will drive routine husbandry care and maintenance of animals as well as in vivo techniques to provide technical support on study.
As an Animal Care Technician II, a typical day might include:
1. Performing routine facility maintenance tasks on a daily, weekly, monthly and semiannual basis, such as stocking supplies and materials, waste stream management and sanitization of the laboratory space
2. Performing daily health checks on animals, reporting concerns to the attending veterinarian and aiding in treatment plans, as needed
3. Changing cages, and performing other routine animal husbandry tasks, such as, ensuring animals have access to water, food and enrichment
4. Flagging equipment issues to the facilities team and support resolution steps, as appropriate
5. Receiving animals and maintaining accurate electronic records of animal census
6. Supporting in-vivo study by performing techniques on mice in collaboration and under the direction of the Study Lead. This may include routine injections (SC, IV, IP), body weight collection, clinical observations, tumor measurement (caliper), blood sample collections and necropsies with extensive tissue list collections (training will be provided)
7. Providing other forms of study support, such as ear tagging, randomizing, and coordinating activities
8. Conveying constructive feedback to refine in vivo sciences processes

To be considered for this role,you must have at least a High School Diploma and 2 years of relevant experience in rodent husbandry and care. AALAS certification at the ALAT level is highly desired (required after first year of employment). Must have a strong drive to grow their technical skills to provide technical support on studies.
