We currently have an exciting opportunity for a flexible, passionate, dedicated and skilled General Engineering Lecturer. Duties
* Classroom teaching, tutorial work and associated outreach duties, residential, open and distance learning courses and student placements
* All associated organisational and administrative work, preparation and marking and appropriate student welfare and academic counselling responsibilities;
* Acting as a Personal Tutor to students as required and undertaking all of the associated duties including pastoral care support.
* Making a full contribution to the team approach to learning and teaching.
* Implementing a student-centred negotiated learning programme in accordance with the College’s curriculum framework.
* Implementing agreed induction procedures and processes for students.
* Ensuring that students are informed of what is expected of them at every stage of their programme and that an awareness of what the programme involves is a feature of all reviews undertaken with students.
* Ensuring that appropriate assignments, tasks and activities are regularly set and assessed and that feedback is given to students in ways that will allow them to develop and achieve progression.
* Implementing all college policies relating to the management of learning and teaching and quality.
* Contributing to the team’s yearly curriculum plan and each member of staff’s yearly plan of action and providing appropriate records to the relevant Manager.
Skills/Experience
* Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse range of people at all ages and levels
* Ability to prioritise and meet deadlines within a busy environment
* Highly motivated professional with a range of industry experience and knowledge
Qualifications
* Minimum GCSE Grade 4 /C or Equivalent Level 2 qualifications in Maths and English
* Level 4 qualification in the relevant area of expertise
* Level 5 Teaching qualification (or commitment to achieving this in the required timeframe)
