Job Description
We are looking for a new Sports Content Writer to join our team based in Bedford. Initially a fixed‑term 6‑month contract, this position could become permanent for the right candidate. This is a hybrid role (3 days in the office, 2 days remote). Salary range: £25 000–£27 000 (DOE).
About The Role
The Sports Content Writer is a key member of the Content Team, responsible for producing high‑quality, relevant, and timely written content for clients with a focus on sports‑related topics in the iGaming sector. The role involves writing to a consistent standard, participating in ideation sessions, proofreading and sub‑editing content, and conducting research to inform and enhance output.
The position supports both the Senior Content Specialist and the wider team, with opportunities to contribute to client meetings, develop SEO awareness, and create content across a range of formats and platforms. The role also includes internal content initiatives and supporting the delivery of client content calendars.
Job Requirements
Essential Skills
* A passion for writing and the ability to create different forms for different platforms
* Evidence of writing to a high‑quality standard
* A positive attitude with a hunger to learn
* Excellent organisational and time‑management skills
* Familiarity with AI (Artificial Intelligence) tools (e.g., Claude, ChatGPT)
Desirable Skills
* Degree in Journalism or similar (preferred but not essential)
* Ability to write in different languages
* Fundamental understanding of relevant SEO fundamentals (e.g., headings, metadata, content optimisation)

Job Responsibilities
* Writing high‑quality, relevant, and timely content following the style guide and appropriate TOV.
* Positively participating in ideation sessions for content, pitches, and proposals.
* Producing internal resources and marketing material for the content team and wider business based on research or training.
* Writing or repurposing content for international markets.
* Attending client calls/meetings as required.
* Proofreading and sub‑editing colleague's content to a good standard.
* Conducting effective research, gaining a good understanding of niche and target audiences to aid content creation.
* Contributing to client content calendars.
* Proactively engaging in personal development: attending training courses and constantly expanding subject knowledge.
