Location: Dunton, Essex (Minimum 4 days onsite)
Rate: £29.59ph via an Umbrella Company (Inside IR35) – Increasing to £38.38ph via an Umbrella company (Insite IR35) after 13 weeks
Employment Type: Contract (Currently financed until December 2026)

XR Engineer - Extended Reality
Position description:
* XR Review Leadership: Prepare, manage, and facilitate immersive XR reviews (Powerwall, HMD, and Desktop) for internal and external customers to support Attribute Assessments and Program Gateway Reviews.
* Data & Workflow Management: Manage the department's operational metrics and workflow systems. Utilize PowerBI, Excel, and SharePoint to maintain dashboards that track project status and efficiency.
* Data Pipeline: Use Teamcenter to extract complex CAD data, clean and optimize models, and maintain up-to-date variants within Autodesk VRED to ensure production-ready visualizations.
* Tool Development: Collaborate with customers to develop tailored review environments that serve as active decision-making tools (e.g., integrating decision matrices into the visual session).
* Continuous Improvement: Actively contribute to the continuous development of XR tools and delivery, identifying opportunities to automate processes and integrate new technologies.
Skills Required:
* Technical & Analytical: Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to bridge the gap between visual fidelity and data logic.
* Data Proficiency: Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically Excel (complex data handling), Access, and PowerBI (dashboard creation/maintenance).
* Visualization: Functional experience with high-fidelity visualization tools (e.g., VRED, UNREAL, or similar).
* Collaboration: Excellent people, presentation, and communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
Skills Preferred:
* Automotive OEM Systems: Knowledge of automotive OEM internal systems, specifically Teamcenter (structure management) and VisMockUp.
* Advanced Visualization: Deep understanding of Autodesk VRED (variants, scene optimization) and Game Engine tools (Unreal Engine).
* Programming: Experience coding in Python (for scripting/automation) or C++.
* AI & Innovation: Strong understanding of LLMs (Large Language Models) and how they can be applied to generate responses or automate engineering workflows.
* IT Infrastructure: Background in IT hardware, networking, and XR hardware systems (HMDs, tracking, render nodes).
Experience Required:
* No direct experience required if the candidate holds a degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) based subject.
Experience Preferred:
* Visualisation experience or relevant industry.
Education Required:
* Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) based subject.
Education Preferred:
* Master’s Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) based subject.
* Additional Information:
* Candidate must have the ability to learn quickly in a complex technical environment, be extremely proactive and self-motivated, and be a team player.
* This role is a hybrid position requiring a balance of creative visualization work and logical data/process management.
* Location: Dunton - 4 days a week onsite
* Travel: Maybe Germany
