Job Title: Special Projects Accountant (12 month maternity cover)Based in Braintree | Full TimeSalary: £30,500
Are you an analytical finance professional with a keen eye for detail and a passion for problem-solving? Market 36 Recruitment is working with a well-established business based in Braintree to recruit a Special Projects Accountant to join their central finance team.
In this unique and varied role, you’ll be responsible for managing and overseeing financial activities relating to specific initiatives and projects, with a particular focus on the SAS Division. It’s a great opportunity for someone who enjoys digging into the details, supporting high-level decision-making, and working across departments to drive success.
Key Responsibilities:
* Reconciliation of retention & application debtors ledgers on a monthly basis
* Prepare and review Cost Value Reconciliation (CVR) reports
* Analyse engineer activity via GDC reviews and report on individual profitability
* Produce monthly Riggers P&L and steel price reviews
* Generate detailed timesheet and engineering cost reports
* Track energy utility costs for internal review
* Monitor client financials via credit reporting tools
* Maintain application, debtor, and cash recovery tracking sheets
* Support final account reviews and audit preparation
* Provide ad hoc financial reports and assist with various internal projects
What We’re Looking For:
* Strong accounting and financial analysis experience
* Excellent attention to detail and advanced problem-solving skills
* Confident communicator with the ability to present findings clearly
* Organised, adaptable, and proactive in a fast-paced environment
* Experience working across teams and managing financial data from multiple sources
* Actively studying towards a professional accountancy qualification (e.g., ACCA/CIMA)
