What will you be doing?
This role involves working a 3-shift 8-hour pattern (6-2, 2-10, 10-6) at our Plaistow site, supporting the production of sticks, sachets, bottles, and cans. As a Maintenance Technician, you will provide efficient maintenance services to all plant and equipment used in our refinery and packaging areas, aiming to improve plant availability and reliability. You will be responsible for maintaining all mechanical and electronic systems within the packing, utilities, and jetty sections, solving problems, and implementing long-term solutions. You will work closely with the Area Maintenance Leader to plan, schedule, and agree on workloads, including preventative, predictive, and improvement activities.
* Supervise maintenance activities, optimizing available on-site resources and contractors to ensure high-quality repairs, servicing, and improvement projects.
* Manage and review SAP maintenance system data for budgeting, trend analysis, reliability, and maintaining accurate inventories.
* Conduct detailed root cause analysis (RCA) on component failures, and implement modifications and improvements to enhance reliability and performance.
* Supervise cleaning resources to maintain plant hygiene.
* Participate in all stages of capital projects, from planning and implementation to commissioning, including pre-delivery inspections and installation of new plant equipment.
* Perform plant isolations as required.
* Champion health, safety, quality, and environmental targets.
Location: Based at our Plaistow site (East London).
What are we looking for?
* Experience working in an automated continuous process environment.
* Multiskilled across various engineering trades.
* Preferably an HNC/NVQ 4 in an engineering discipline, or at least a BTEC/ONC in a relevant field, or completed Apprenticeship.
* Experience with predictive and preventative maintenance techniques.
* Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental systems and procedures.
* Knowledge of PLC and high-tension control systems.
