A People Leadership and Development Manager plays a key role in designing and delivering training, development, and leadership initiatives across Head Office and Retail. The role works closely with key stakeholders to develop tailored development plans that assess current capabilities, identify future skills, and address development needs, ultimately enhancing employee engagement, performance, leadership, and career progression.
The manager reports to the Senior Talent and People Development Manager and manages the People Development team.
Typical Day
* Build strong relationships with key stakeholders, including Regional General Managers, functional heads of departments, and the People Teams across both Savers and Superdrug.
* Support the Senior Talent and People Development Manager in the design and implementation of the company’s Development Strategy, with specific ownership of Savers training and leadership development delivery both online and face‑to‑face.
* Continuously develop personal knowledge and skills to ensure Savers offers best‑in‑class training and leadership development that meets the evolving needs of our people, now and in the future.
* Ensure leadership skills at all levels are clearly defined, mapped, and developed, focusing on both current skill requirements and future leadership needs.
* Identify trends and provide insight to the business to drive great decision‑making and enhance our overall development offering.
* Work closely with the Senior Talent and Development Manager to highlight skills gaps, development opportunities and future leadership potential, to enable Savers to deliver a strong succession plan and pipeline of top talent both internally and externally.
* Deliver regular reports and insights on key KPIs that support business performance, strengthen our employee journey, and maintain a healthy internal leadership and succession pipeline.
* Line manage and develop the People Development team, ensuring they are empowered to deliver high‑impact learning and leadership programmes across Savers.
