Carpenter / Locksmith

Salary: £39,673.67 with an additional 5% basic salary in recognition of shift and weekend work
Contract: Full Time - Perm (39hrs per week – shift work Monday to Sunday plus on call)
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Carpenter inc Locksmith to join our team at HMP Huntercombe a Category C men’s prison. Qualifications
* Substantiated experience in a similar role
* Be able to display competency in the use and operation of all associated power tools and machinery
* Basic IT skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel and Word)
* Knowledge of relevant health and safety requirements
* Up to date First Aid at Work qualification
* City & Guilds, NVQ Level 3 in Carpentry or an equivalent qualification or substantial experience
* Good Health & Safety knowledge
* Excellent organisational, time management and people skills

Future Plans
GFSL has been notified by its shareholder (MOJ) that FM Services will in the future be delivered by the private sector. Following a successful procurement process, GFSL’s services will transfer to a private sector provider in August 2027.
