Join Barclays as a Release Train Engineer, where you will ensure delivery targets for data and solution architecture within major programmes, ensuring on‑time, high‑quality outcomes. You will work closely with enterprise and platform teams to design solutions that solve customer‑focused business problems using data.


Qualifications

* Facilitate & coordinate agile release train activities and ceremonies
* Lead program increment planning events and ensure successful execution
* Drive alignment across multiple agile teams and stakeholders
* Support ART synchronisation through Scrum of Scrum
* Experience with cloud deployment for data and analytics solutions
* Good understanding of Enterprise Data Platforms
* Monitor ART progress, risks and dependencies
* Promote lean‑agile principles and continuous improvements
* Good stakeholder mentorship skills, including working with senior‑level stakeholders


Valued skills

* Good knowledge of customer and digital data
* Good cloud data and analytics solution and implementation knowledge
* Ability to drive projects technically and deliver high‑quality outcomes on the first attempt, within schedule and budget
* Ability to collaborate across teams to deliver multi‑layered systems and components, and effectively guide stakeholders

This role can be based in Northampton, Glasgow or Knutsford.


Purpose of the role

To manage change projects that help the organisation achieve its strategic objectives, while ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within budget, in control and in compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies and procedures.


Accountabilities

* Manage and optimise the flow of value through the ART.
* Facilitate PI planning and other key Agile events and ceremonies.
* Track and report on ART execution.
* Foster collaboration across teams.
* Provide coaching on Lean‑Agile practices.
* Manage change within SAFe, ensuring delivery on time, within scope and budget, and to the required quality standards.
* Communicate with stakeholders, including senior management, project teams, and external partners, to keep them informed of progress and aligned to expectations.
* Manage squads to ensure appropriate resourcing and the required skills to deliver project objectives.
* Manage project budgets to ensure delivery within agreed financial constraints.
* Produce sprint‑level and overall progress reports to ensure timely and cost‑effective delivery.
* Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks, assumptions, issues, and dependencies.
* Facilitate change management activities, including training and communications, to ensure successful adoption and embedding of change initiatives.

* For an individual contributor, they will be a subject‑matter expert within own discipline and will guide technical direction. They will lead collaborative, multi‑year assignments and guide team members through structured assignments, identify the need for inclusion of other areas of specialisation to complete assignments. They will train, guide and coach less experienced specialists and provide information affecting long‑term profits, organisational risks and strategic decisions.
* Advise key stakeholders, including functional leadership teams and senior management on functional and cross‑functional areas of impact and alignment.
* Manage and mitigate risks through assessment, in support of the control and governance agenda.
* Demonstrate leadership and accountability for managing risk and strengthening controls in relation to the work your team does.
* Demonstrate comprehensive understanding of the organisation functions to contribute to achieving the goals of the business.
* Collaborate with other areas of work, for business‑aligned support areas to keep up to speed with business activity and the business strategies.
* Create solutions based on sophisticated analytical thought comparing and selecting complex alternatives. In‑depth analysis with interpretative thinking will be required to define problems and develop innovative solutions.
* Adopt and include the outcomes of extensive research in problem‑solving processes.
* Seek out, build and maintain trusting relationships and partnerships with internal and external stakeholders to accomplish key business objectives, using influencing and negotiating skills to achieve outcomes.
