Overview of team / business area .
We have a well-established Planning and Environment Team based in a number of offices across the UK, who deal with an impressive range of projects including renewable energy, waste, industrial, mineral and commercial and major infrastructure. We have an exciting pipeline of projects, particularly in renewable energy, including solar, battery and wind technologies.

The role
* Providing advice and guidance on planning and environmental matters to a variety of clients including leading renewable energy developers, utility and infrastructure companies, waste management operators, house builders, land promoters, investment institutions, mineral owners and operators, and others throughout all stages of the planning process.
* Shaping and assessing the case for development projects, including: determining planning strategies.
* Site appraisals.
* Pre- application consultation, preparing planning applications and appeals.
* EIA Coordination (alongside the EIA team).
* Planning project management including co-ordinating in-house and external technical teams.
* Community consultation.
* Local Plan representations.
* Fee proposal preparation and business development.
* Liaison with external parties, including developers, landowners, architects, engineers, and planning authorities
* Team supervision and advice.
About you
Ideally you will have a minimum of 3 years experience with a relevant degree and be a chartered planner. You will have a strong track record working on medium / large scale planning projects and demonstrate a high level of technical competency, together with good analytical, communication, interpersonal, and writing skills. The role will require working on a number of projects, so a proven ability to manage your own time and workload within tight timescales, and ability to problem solve, is critical. Experience of Mineral Planning would be advantageous.
