Job Overview
The Electrical Project Manager will lead the delivery of electrical elements across MEP, decarbonisation, and heat pump installation projects. This role requires strong technical expertise, excellent coordination skills, and the ability to manage projects from pre‑construction through to handover, ensuring high‑quality, low‑carbon engineering solutions.
Main Duties
Project Management
Manage the electrical delivery of MEP and decarbonisation projects from planning through to completion.
Oversee installation works including:
Electrical infrastructure upgrades
Power supplies and controls for heat pump systems
BMS interfaces, metering, and monitoring systems
Energy‑efficiency and low‑carbon electrical solutions
Coordinate closely with mechanical teams to ensure seamless integration of heat pump and decarbonisation systems.
Planning & Coordination
Develop and manage project programmes, resource plans, and procurement schedules.
Lead site coordination meetings and maintain clear communication across all stakeholders.
Work with design teams to review drawings, resolve technical issues, and ensure buildability.
Health, Safety & Compliance
Ensure all electrical works comply with relevant regulations, standards, and company procedures.
Promote a strong safety culture and ensure RAMS, permits, and inspections are in place.
Oversee commissioning, testing, and certification of electrical systems.
Commercial & Contractual Support
Support the commercial team with variations, change control, and progress reporting.
Monitor project costs, labour productivity, and procurement performance.
Assist in subcontractor management, including selection, coordination, and performance reviews.
Client & Stakeholder Management
Act as the primary electrical point of contact for clients, consultants, and supply chain partners.
Provide regular progress updates and maintain strong working relationships.
Ensure client expectations are met throughout the project lifecycle.
What we are looking for
Proven experience as an Electrical Project Manager within the MEP or building services sector.
Strong understanding of electrical systems associated with heat pumps, renewable technologies, and decarbonisation projects.
Excellent knowledge of BS7671, electrical regulations, and industry best practice.
Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and design information.
Desirable
Experience with public‑sector decarbonisation schemes (e.g., PSDS).
HNC/HND or degree in Electrical Engineering or Building Services.
SMSTS, IOSH, or equivalent safety qualifications.
Familiarity with digital project management tools.
