What are we looking for?
We are seeking a Configuration Management Analyst to join the team based at the Advanced Manufacturing Facility in Ampthill, Bedfordshire.
This role benefits from a 4xFlex working pattern: a four-day week, Monday to Thursday, with hybrid working and typically 2 days on site.
The successful candidate will be responsible for applying Configuration Management principles and practices, and for working closely with experienced engineers to maintain the integrity of our complex engineering projects.
The role also provides an opportunity to develop skills and knowledge to progress into more senior Configuration Management / Digital Engineering roles, contributing to the implementation of our Digital Engineering strategy.
Key responsibilities
* Apply Configuration Management principles, processes, and tools.
* Analyze proposed product design changes for their impact on the product and system; establish and maintain configuration baselines; contribute to change control processes.
* Prepare reports detailing the effect of changes on the product; review released engineering change data; ensure compliance with configuration management policies; collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
In addition, the role is expected to evolve to incorporate digital transformation, development of digital twins, digital engineering, and Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE). This may include:
* Contributing to digital transformation initiatives, modernising processes and adopting new technologies.
* Assisting in the creation and maintenance of digital twins for simulation, testing, and optimisation.
* Utilising digital tools and MBSE practices to design, analyse, and manage engineering projects.
* Employing SysML and systems thinking to model, verify, and validate systems throughout the lifecycle.
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be eligible for Security Clearance (SC).
What skills will I require?
* Experience as a Configuration Management Engineer or similar role in an engineering environment.
* Knowledge of Configuration Management principles, processes, and standards.
* Familiarity with Configuration Management tools and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems.
* Good communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work effectively in a team.
* Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
* Experience with Defence industry CM practices.
* Working knowledge of DEF-STAN 05-57.
* Windchill PLM.
* MBSE tools and methodologies.
* Data integration concepts and technologies; Digital Thread concepts.
* Product Development Lifecycle awareness (concept, design, prototyping, testing, production).
* Systems Engineering exposure; knowledge of SysML and systems thinking.
