Play Therapist – SEN Specialist Setting Templecombe | Immediate Start | Part-Time We are recruiting for a compassionate and creative Play Therapist to join a highly respected specialist provision in Templecombe. This position is available immediately and offers the opportunity to make a lasting difference in children’s lives. This nurturing setting supports pupils aged 6 to 13 with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, trauma backgrounds, autism, attachment difficulties and associated behavioural challenges. The school is known for its therapeutic approach, small class sizes and strong focus on emotional wellbeing, enabling pupils to rebuild confidence and re-engage with learning. Although the full-time equivalent salary ranges between £38,000 and £45,000 per annum, this particular opportunity is offered on a freelance basis, working one day per week or two half days per week, with pay calculated pro rata. The Role Deliver play therapy and creative therapeutic interventions Work with pupils whose EHCPs or support plans identify therapeutic provision Use trauma-informed and integrative approaches Adapt sessions to meet complex emotional and behavioural needs Liaise with staff and families to ensure consistent support Contribute to progress reviews and reports What We’re Looking For Recognised qualification in Play Therapy or Integrative Arts Therapy Minimum 6 months’ childcare experience, particularly supporting children with SEN Understanding of trauma-informed practice Empathy, creativity and emotional resilience Excellent communication and record-keeping skills Why Work Through Teaching Personnel?
