Stores & Dispatch Operative
Based in Fenton Barns, North Berwick. Salary: From £25,400 per annum (negotiable, depending on experience). Full-time, Permanent (40 hours per week, Monday–Friday).
Overview
We’re looking for a Stores & Dispatch Operative to join our busy Operations Team. This is a hands-on role that ensures the smooth running of our production, stores, and dispatch operations.
Key Responsibilities
* Completing all report picking in line with works orders
* Carrying out daily checks on production output to ensure correct packaging availability
* Checking and verifying all packing lists
* Loading and unloading supplier transport safely and efficiently
* Maintaining tidy, organised, and safe working areas in line with company Health & Safety standards
* Communicating effectively with the Production Manager and internal departments
* Managing the internal despatch area to ensure it remains safe and efficient
* Coordinating transport requests promptly and accurately
* Preparing customer orders for timely shipment per pick and packing lists
* Managing waste streams responsibly and effectively
* Carrying out quality control (QC) checks
* Packing finished products for despatch
* Locating and issuing goods to production as required
* Ensuring all vehicles are correctly loaded and transport documentation is properly signed off
* Providing the shipping department with all relevant despatch information
* Ensuring all products are correctly identified before leaving site
* Occasionally delivering components to site using the company van
* Supporting other departments as required
Qualifications & Experience
* Experience as a Stores & Dispatch Operative preferred (full training will be provided for the right candidate)
* Experience working to deadlines in a fast-paced environment
* Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling
* Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team
* Commitment to maintaining high standards of accuracy, organisation, and safety
