Overview

The University of Suffolk is looking for two outstanding scholars to join the School of Health, Sciences and Society and help drive our vision for being a leading centre for teaching and research excellence. This exciting opportunity is offered as a full-time permanent post within the Psychology team. The successful candidate will have a commitment to providing high-quality teaching and will be focused on growing our School’s USP around our Psychology provision.

Base pay range: Permanent, full time, 37 hours per week (1.0 FTE); Band 6 - £43,482 to £48,823 per annum.

This is an exciting opportunity for a psychology lecturer to provide learning, teaching and assessment support to students on the University’s undergraduate and postgraduate psychology courses, to be involved in the ongoing development of our portfolio, and to engage in a range of scholarly activities. The successful candidates will supervise dissertations at undergraduate and postgraduate levels and contribute to the supervision of PhD students.


About The Team

The Psychology team is within the Counselling, Psychology and Social Work subject area, based in the School of Health, Sciences and Society. The team is friendly, enthusiastic and experienced, with diverse research interests, committed to student-centred practices, and supporting our students to thrive during their time at university and beyond. The School is a collegial environment with mutual support, working together to achieve the University’s objectives. The successful candidate must be a team player, able to nurture the talents of others for the benefit of the School and University. About You

* You hold a PhD or an equivalent professional qualification in a related field.
* You hold Graduate Basis for Chartership with the British Psychological Society.
* You have experience of delivering high quality teaching to students from diverse backgrounds.
* You have the ability to use research effectively, engage in relevant research and scholarship in the field, and ensure teaching is research-informed.
* You are an effective team player with excellent communication skills and can plan and organise your work effectively, while being flexible to meet the demands of the role.
* You are committed to ensuring equality of opportunity for all learners and to decolonising the curriculum.
* You are open to new ideas and new ways of working, including our innovative block and blend teaching approach.
