The RoleAs a Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant, you'll play a vital part in helping students aged 11-16 feel safe, understood, and ready to learn. You'll work closely with teaching staff, pastoral teams, and specialist practitioners to:Build positive, trusting relationships with studentsSupport emotional regulation and behaviour strategiesCreate a calm, nurturing environment that promotes learningProvide in-class support and targeted interventionsModel resilience, empathy, and consistencyThis is a school that truly values its staff, invests in training, and champions a whole-school trauma-informed approach. Who We're Looking ForWe'd love to hear from you if:You have recent experience (within the last three years) working as a Teaching Assistant in a school setting ORYou have supported young people aged 11-16 in other environments (youth work, mentoring, residential care, sports coaching, alternative provision, etc.)Most importantly, you bring:A calm, patient, and reflective approachA genuine commitment to supporting young people with additional needsStrong communication skills and emotional intelligenceA willingness to learn and grow within a trauma-informed framework Why This Role MattersThis isn't just a job.
