The Role:
This is a 12-month contract role within our Saab Seaeye Underwater Robotics Business Unit in Fareham.
As part of the Electronics team, you will create design solutions for electronic/electrical products in underwater vehicles, aligning with the company's business needs through innovation, creativity, and professionalism.
You may be required to lead projects, coordinating activities across departments such as Purchasing, Operations, Sales, and Logistics.
Key Responsibilities:
* Design and develop new electronic designs.
* Work on novel designs with quantified acceptable risks.
* Manage full-lifecycle design and development with change management, from concept to end of life.
* Design mixed-signal electronics.
* Apply board layout principles.
* Work with interface buses and protocols including I2C, SPI, RS485, CAN, and Ethernet.
* Ensure designs meet LVD/EMC compliance.
* Develop requirements specifications and test procedures.
* Perform system-level integration and testing.
Qualifications and Skills:
* Bachelor's degree or an accredited qualification in a related engineering discipline, or equivalent experience combined with education.
* Ability to work independently or within project teams.
* Proactive, 'can do' approach.
* Strong problem-solving skills.
* Design skills and knowledge.
* Good teamwork skills.
* Flexibility and openness to change.
