Job Description: Electrical Assembler / Panel Wirer
Salary: £30,000 per year
Location: Hillington, Glasgow (with free on-site parking)
Hours: Full-time, four-day working week (Monday–Thursday)
About the Role
Montrose Manufacturing is seeking an experienced Electrical Assembler / Panel Wirer to join our team in Hillington. This hands-on role involves building and wiring electrical panels, cable assemblies, and sub-assemblies to a high standard of quality.
As part of our commitment to work-life balance, we operate a four-day working week—giving you a long weekend every weekend. Due to the nature of this role, remote or hybrid working is not available.

Key Responsibilities
* Interpret and work from technical schematics, wiring diagrams, and assembly drawings.
* Loom, route, and terminate single- and multi-core cables.
* Assemble PLC racks and DIN rail racks from detailed schematics.
* Build mechanical sub-assemblies to drawing.
* Apply correct crimping technologies (e.g. Molex Micro/Mini/Junior Fit, RJ45, IPC connectors).
* Solder and splice to a high level of competency (neat terminations, no dry joints, no shorts).
* Route and install cable chains.
* Terminate and assemble a range of connectors (RF, data, power, rigid, semi-rigid, multi-pin such as D-types).
* Manufacture cable-to-board and cable-to-cable assemblies.
* Carry out fault-finding, corrective work, and alterations when required.
* Apply strict quality control procedures and ensure a "right first time" approach.
* Produce accurate work instructions and documentation to support builds.
* Support continuous improvement and development within the assembly cell.
* Complete any other tasks reasonably assigned by a supervisor.
Requirements
* Minimum 3 years' experience in panel wiring, electrical fitting, or assembly in a manufacturing/shop floor environment.
* Proven ability to read and interpret electrical circuit diagrams.
* Strong knowledge of electrical components and assembly practices.
* Demonstrated competence in corrective works and fault finding.
* Excellent attention to detail, dexterity, and commitment to quality workmanship.
* Ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as part of a team.
* Capable of delivering to strict deadlines and maintaining high standards under pressure.
