WASTE PLANT OPERATIVE - (Within WASTE MANAGEMENT)
You MUST be a Driver for this role - due to location (no public transport)
SHIFTS: DAYS & NIGHT shifts (From: 6am - 6pm / 6pm - 6am)
LOCATION: Knottingley WF11 0HP
This role is a Temporary role STARTING ASAP
HRGO Recruitment are recruiting for Plant Operatives to work in a busy Waste Plant within the Knottingley WF11 area.
Key Responsibilities:
* Effectively and continuously monitor all plant processing.
* Sort machines and screens, ensuring they are clean and operating to their maximum efficiency.
* Ensure all processes meet safety and quality standards and regulatory requirements.
* Plan and manage emergency protocols related to waste treatment processes.
* Respond to any machinery issues, plant bottlenecks or blockages, and react to plant alarms, rectifying or reporting accordingly.
Please note: This role is very dusty within the plant operation. PPE Masks are used in this area.
Overview:
* Ensure all landings, walkways, and stairs are kept free of debris at all times.
* Ensure all landings and machines are kept clean at all times; any areas causing spillage should be reported and rectified quickly.
* Complete relevant paperwork accurately at the start and end of every shift to confirm effective handover.
* Act upon any issues found or report as required.
* Operate the company FLT as required (if trained).
* Keep all machines free of dust build-up.
* Relieve other plant operative roles as required for breaks and holidays.
* Monitor all waste streams throughout the shift and address any adverse variations quickly.
* Assist Maintenance during plant downtimes, ensuring supervision or familiarity with task requirements and safety needs.
Key Skills:
* Good knowledge of health and safety practices.
* Strong leadership skills and abilities.
* Current FLT license.
* Excellent communication skills both verbally and in writing.
* Excellent attention to detail.
* Good IT skills.
* Logical fault-finding skills.
* Ability to manage multiple workloads simultaneously.
* Ability to work well under pressure.
* Good understanding of the 5S culture.
