• Own and run the end-to-end procurement for both the ERP technology vendor and the Systems Integrator (SI), from route-to-market through to contract award.
• Design and execute the procurement strategy (framework vs open tender, sequencing of tech vs SI, single vs dual procurements), keeping it compliant, defensible and paced.
• Lead market engagement and supplier management, including parity controls, data room management and consistent information release, particularly given prior SAP engagement.
• Act as a commercial and functional “critical friend”, challenging over-specification and ensuring requirements are market-testable, affordable and contract-ready.
• Work hands-on with BAs and SMEs (especially Finance and P2P) to shape and assure procurement-related functional and non-functional requirements.
• Provide pricing, benchmarking and VfM assurance, including rate cards, delivery models, whole-life cost transparency and exit provisions.
• Prepare Cabinet- and Board-ready procurement papers, aligned to the business case, options appraisal and decision framework.
• Operate as a hybrid role – combining procurement leadership with strong ERP functional understanding, particularly across P2P, Finance and cross-cutting integrations. (this is optional)
