Senior / Principal Mechanical Engineer - Water Sector
Join Stantec in Leeds as a Senior / Principal Mechanical Engineer in the Water Sector. We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Engineer passionate about creating sustainable solutions.
The Opportunity
We are seeking a Senior to Principal grade Mechanical Engineer to join our growing engineering teams in Leeds. You will be involved in the full project life cycle, from feasibility and optioneering through detailed design and construction support, including site surveys and investigations.
You will lead mechanical design for infrastructure and non‑infrastructure projects, including water/wastewater treatment plants, conveyance systems, pumping stations and more. You will work closely with project managers, technical leaders, design engineers, clients, supply chain partners, contractors, planners and other stakeholders to deliver successful project outcomes. You will also mentor and guide junior engineers.
About You
You will be degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or a related subject, ideally holding Chartered status or working toward it. You have previous experience of detailed design within the water industry, and a background working for or with delivery contractors would be beneficial. For the right candidate, there will be opportunities to take on line management responsibilities, and previous experience of this would be considered.
