Overview
Applications are invited from suitably committed and experienced senior Social Workers to join the Children in Care Team as Deputy Team Manager on the beautiful Island of Guernsey, in the Channel Islands. The salary range for this post is £69,469 up to £78,250 dependent on experience.
Responsibilities
Reporting to the Team Manager you will:
* Assist and provide effective leadership and supervision to the Children in Care (CIC) Team and Leaving Care Services.
* Assist in the management of the effective provision of social work services provided by the CIC Team and Leaving Care service.
* Ensure the core functions of the team operate to a good quality and are effective in safeguarding and promoting the wellbeing of children and young people in line with the Corporate Parenting Strategy and the Children and Young People’s Plan.
* Develop and sustain resources whilst maintaining morale, flexibility and quality of service.
* Deputise for the Team Manager in the Manager’s absence.
Person Requirements
* Qualified Social Worker with current full UK statutory registration.
* At least five years post-registration UK experience in Children and Families statutory settings.
* Extensive knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation, local and UK best practice guidance and regulations, National Minimum Standards and policies and procedures pertinent to Children in Care and Leaving Care services.
* Supervisory or Management experience including deputising for Management in their absence.
* Be in possession of a clean and current car driving licence; own vehicle required (mileage expensed at full rate).
