Location: Wellingborough (must live within a commutable distance)
Hours: Days only 0800 - 1630 – no shift pattern, minimal call‑out

The Role
As a mechanical maintenance engineer, you will be involved in the following:
* Carrying out planned preventative maintenance to maximise uptime and equipment performance.
* Responding quickly and effectively to mechanical breakdowns to minimise disruption.
* Diagnosing and repairing faults across a range of production machinery.
* Working safely in line with SSOW, risk assessments, SOPs and company policies.
* Completing PPMs and reactive tasks within agreed timeframes.
* Maintaining accurate maintenance records (manual and electronic).
* Ensuring all repairs are validated by engineering supervision and production teams.
* Keeping the workshop organised, safe and compliant, including correct parts usage.
* Participating in limited call‑out cover and supporting during absence periods.
Experience Required
To be considered for this role, the successful candidate will have the following:
* Experience with machinery such as granulators, conveyors, hammermills, extrusion equipment, colour separators, gearboxes, bearings, rollers and shafts.
* Level 3 Mechanical Engineering qualification (preferred).
* Strong diagnostic and problem‑solving skills.
* Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
* A proactive, solutions‑focused mindset with a passion for continuous improvement.
* Excellent communication skills and a strong team ethic.
* Reliable, organised and committed to high standards.
