Role Title: Digital & Social Manager, Tour de France Grand Depart 2027 Salary: Up to £32,500 per annum (depending on experience) Location: Manchester About In 2027 the UK will host the Grand Depart of both the Tour De France and the Tour De France Femme, Avec Zwift. This will be the first time in history that both races have departed from the same country, outside of France. A landmark social impact programme will also be delivered across the UK, tackling inactivity, improving mental wellbeing, boosting economic growth and supporting communities to thrive. A Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) – Grand Depart GB 2027 – will maintain oversight of the delivery of the events and will manage public funding on behalf of DCMS, Scottish Government, Welsh Government and UK Sport. We are now recruiting for… Digital & Social Manager, Tour de France Grand Depart 2027 We are now recruiting for a Digital & Social Media Manager, Tour de France Grand Départ 2027. This fixed-term position will play a pivotal role in shaping the digital output driving awareness of the event and leading the powerful storytelling of the social impact it will deliver across the UK. You will be a well-rounded digital marketing generalist with proven experience delivering activity across multiple channels, including content planning and creation, social media management, basic SEO, email marketing and community management. Experience producing and publishing social media content across multiple platforms is essential, along with a knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite (specifically Photoshop), plus Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) to an intermediate level. As part of the Brand and Engagement Directorate, you’ll sit alongside British Cycling’s marketing and communication teams and work closely with our Tour de France Grand Départ Content Marketing Lead. About you You thrive as part of a creative, fast-paced team, building positive relationships with colleagues, riders, fans, and external partners. You have 3-5 years experience, bringing a proactive, can-do attitude and a hunger to learn. You’ve got proven skills in digital marketing and social media content creation – whether it’s writing captions, creating carousels, editing reels, or designing quick-turnaround graphics. You’re confident in community management: knowing how to engage audiences, answer questions, and handle sensitive topics with care. Knowledge of cycling is a bonus – but more important is your drive to find those “gold dust” content opportunities and turn them into thumb-stopping posts that people want to share. What will you be doing? Supporting the Content Marketing Lead on content planning, production, and publishing across Tour de France, Grand Depart 2027 channels. Helping shape and implement the digital strategy and social media plans that amplify and drive awareness of TDF/TDFF 2027 across all owned channels. Creating content that engages and grows audiences – from graphics and video to captions and stories – ensuring consistency of tone and style. Leading on community management, actively monitoring and driving conversations, responding to comments, and fostering positive online engagement. Engaging closely with the Social Impact delivery team to understand programmes and activities, identifying and delivering engaging storytelling opportunities. Using analytics and reporting tools to feedback on performance and make data-led recommendations. Contributing ideas for new features, formats, and campaigns, keeping pace with the latest digital and social media trends.
