About the role
As an Estates Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring our schemes are safe, clean, and welcoming places to live. This hands-on Estates Assistant position involves a mix of grounds maintenance, cleaning, and basic repairs.
Key responsibilities include:
* Maintaining landscaped areas using tools and equipment
* Acting as Night Concierge, ensuring tenant safety and security overnight
* Cleaning communal areas such as halls, stairways, and landings
* Carrying out minor repairs and handyman tasks
* Completing health & safety checks, including fire alarm testing
* Reporting repairs and monitoring contractor work
* Supporting tenants by maintaining a high-quality living environment
This Estates Assistant role requires flexibility, teamwork, and a proactive approach.
About you
To succeed as an Estates Assistant, you will be practical, reliable, and committed to delivering excellent service.
You will have:
* Experience in grounds maintenance, gardening, or cleaning
* Knowledge of health & safety and cleaning practices
* Strong communication and problem-solving skills
* Ability to work night shifts flexibly
* A caring, calm approach in emergency situations
* A positive, can-do attitude and ability to work independently and as part of a team

* A full UK driving licence
We welcome previous experience working as a caretaker, cleaner, maintenance operative, grounds worker, handyman, or facilities assistant, as these roles provide transferable skills for an Estates Assistant.
