Senior Technical Engineer
A leading UK provider of critical power and energy solutions is seeking an experienced Senior Technical Engineer Maintenance to join its team. With over 40 years of success in standby power, uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), and combined heat and power (CHP) systems, this is an excellent opportunity to take on a leadership role within a stable, forward-thinking organisation known for its high standards, technical expertise, and commitment to long-term staff development.
Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Senior Technical Engineerwill manage the Maintenance Technical Team, ensuring effective workflow, training, and performance across engineers. The role combines hands-on technical oversight with leadership, planning, and cross-departmental collaboration to maintain and enhance operational excellence. You will act as a key technical authority, supporting field engineers, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards, and driving continuous improvement initiatives across the maintenance function.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead, support, and develop a team of Technical and Maintenance Engineers (Generator & UPS).
* Oversee day-to-day workflow within the Maintenance Technical Team, ensuring service delivery and KPI targets are achieved.
* Manage, review, and update risk assessments and method statements (RAMS).
* Conduct on-the-job training (OTO) and technical audits to maintain engineering standards.
* Work with the Training Manager to identify and deliver ongoing development for engineers.
* Support and deputise for the Operations Manager, contributing to process improvements and departmental performance.
* Collaborate effectively with senior peers across departments to ensure consistency and customer satisfaction.
* Track, analyse, and report on performance data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
Essential Requirements
* Proven background in the generator industry, with strong electrical and mechanical knowledge.
* Minimum 3 years experience in an engineering environment.
* Strong organisational, communication, and decision-making skills.
* Full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel occasionally.
Whats on Offer
* Salary: £50,000 £62,000 (depending on experience)
* Car Allowance: £7,000 per annum
