The Role
We are seeking a passionate and proactive Higher Level Teaching Assistants to join our team at The Stanway School. If you're dedicated to helping students reach their full potential and are looking for a rewarding role where you can make a real difference, we would love to hear from you.
As a HLTA, you will primarily be responsible for planning and delivering small-group interventions that support our students' academic and personal growth. You'll work closely with our teachers and the wider SEN team to ensure these interventions are effective and tailored to student needs.
The ideal candidate will have a genuine interest in working with young people, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively within a supportive team. While experience in a school setting is essential, we welcome applications from candidates with either primary or secondary school backgrounds.

Hours/Weeks
Hours of work will be between 08:00am – 16:30pm. Working pattern to be discussed at interview.
This post is 37 hours per week, 40 weeks per year (term time, plus non-pupil days and 1 additional week during the school closure periods)

Some of your key responsibilities will include:
* Planning and delivering learning to small groups and whole classes;
* Working one-to-one with students with complex learning needs;
* Proactively supporting students with activities designed to enhance numeracy, literacy and social-emotional skills.
* Providing cover if class teachers are absent.
* Promoting positive behaviour, raising esteem and encouraging an aspirational culture;
* Working with SEN students to foster their development as independent learners

* Experience of working in a school setting (primary or secondary)
* The ability to use your own initiative to resolve routine problems independently
