Job description: Job Overview As a Mechanical Maintenance Fitter, you will be essential to keeping our high-speed manufacturing operations running at their best. You will carry out accurate tool changes, optimise processes, diagnose and repair mechanical faults, and deliver both preventative and breakdown maintenance. You will help improve equipment performance, reduce energy use, and strengthen our culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvementall while supporting the growth of our apprentices. Main Activities / Tasks Product tool changes and set up Process setting and product quality optimisation Troubleshoot process related issues Mechanical fault diagnosis Mechanical preventative and breakdown maintenance Support with the apprentice programme Maintain safety and housekeeping standards Update and maintenance of records in accordance with internal systems, IS09001,ISO14001, BRC etc. Assist with energy reduction plans for the shift team and ensure that energy efficiency considerations are factored into daily work. Actively support and contribute to continuous improvement projects. Your profile Essential Criteria A recognised engineering apprenticeship qualification (at BTEC H.N.C Level 3 or above) successfully completed within a high-speed manufacturing environment. A minimum of 12 months post-apprenticeship experience in a relevant engineering or maintenance role, ideally within a fast-paced production setting. Working knowledge of pneumatics and hydraulics and ability to understand schematics Working knowledge of preventative maintenance practices. Desirable Criteria Understanding of Electrical control systems and ability to fault find electrical issues.
