Pay scale: LEVEL 3 TEACHING ASSISTANT SCALE, NOTTINGHAM CITY
Walter Halls Primary School is a busy and diverse two-form Primary and Nursery school serving the communities of St Anns and Mapperley. We are currently looking for a brilliant Level 3 Teaching Assistant to work on Thursdays and Fridays on a temporary maternity cover contract for one year. You will be working with our Year 6 & Year 5 teams on these two days, starting in January 2026. We are a school that places high importance on the values of Inclusion and Equity and we invest heavily in supporting all of our children, no matter what their needs may be. We believe that committed and hardworking teaching assistants make all the difference to our children’s successes and we therefore place high value on the role that you play in our school.
You will be someone who:
•Has a passion for working in inner-city schools and a strong belief that all children can achieve with the right adults around them.
•Has experience, knowledge and skills in supporting children’s learning in Upper Key Stage 2 with knowledge and experience of Year 6 SATs testing.
•Is calm, patient and committed to helping children who display challenging or complex behaviours.
•Has the ability to work as a part of a large team of professionals, sharing ideas and good practice, working collaboratively.
•Has high standards of communication and interpersonal skills.
•Is excellent at forming positive relationships with all children and families, colleagues and other professionals.
