Cover Supervisor Secondary
Location: Brighton & West Sussex
Full-Time | Term-Time Only | ASAP or Flexible Start
£100 £130 per day (dependent on experience)
Supply Desk are seeking a confident and motivated Secondary School Cover Supervisor to work within our network supportive partner schools. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals considering a future in teaching or those with strong classroom experience who enjoy working with young people in a structured and rewarding environment.
In this role, you will supervise classes during teacher absences, ensuring pupils remain on task with pre-set work and maintaining a calm, productive learning environment. You will work closely with teaching staff, pastoral teams, and senior leadership to uphold high expectations and support the smooth running of the school day.
Your skills will be key in promoting positive behaviour, encouraging pupil engagement, and ensuring continuity of learning across a range of subjects.
Key Skills & Experience:
* Previous experience working with young people (school-based experience desirable).
* Confident classroom presence and the ability to manage behaviour effectively.
* Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with pupils and staff.
* Adaptability and resilience, with the ability to cover a variety of subjects using provided materials.
* A proactive and professional approach to supporting whole-school routines.

Requirements:
* References covering the past 2 years.
* A Bachelor's Degree
* An Enhanced DBS Check on the update service (or willingness to apply we can assist).
* Previous experience working with young people (minimum 6 months preferred).
