Overview
We're a London-based consumer tech brand with a legacy in high-quality audio and a growing focus on digital experiences. We design products that are beautifully crafted, intuitive, and enjoyable to use - from the physical interface to the app UI and the packaging experience. We are looking for an exceptional Product Designer to join our company at a crucial time, with a strong focus on mobile product design for iOS and Android. We have just launched our new identity, and have exciting products in the pipeline that need higher levels of UI/UX professionalism than we have ever delivered, by someone with a truly customer-centric mindset, who goes the extra mile. You'll be shaping digital experiences that complement our physical products, working closely with internal design and engineering teams. While your primary focus will be mobile UX and UI design and product screen layouts, we see huge value if you also bring skills or interest in physical product UX, packaging design, or interface graphics. We are on a mission to change how people listen to music, and you'll be an important part of bringing this vision to life. The company is small, goals are demanding, and the workload is always growing. This is a role for someone driven who thrives in a fast-moving environment and is motivated by the chance to make a big impact.
Responsibilities
* Lead the design of our mobile apps and product screens, from research through to delivery.
* Create wireframes, user flows, interactive prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups in Figma.
* Collaborate with industrial design, engineering, and marketing teams to ensure a cohesive cross-platform experience.
* Conduct user testing and research to validate and refine design decisions.
* Maintain and evolve our design system, ensuring consistency and clarity across all touchpoints.
* Advise on packaging design and product interface graphics (rear panels, labels, layouts).
* (Bonus) Contribute to physical product UX, including setup flows, affordances, and user guidance.
Qualifications
* 3+ years' experience in product design for mobile apps (consumer-facing).
* A portfolio that shows both visual craft and thoughtful UX problem-solving.
* Proficiency in Figma (or similar), prototyping tools, and user research methods.
* Experience working in cross-functional teams (hardware/software integration is a plus).
* Strong user-centred mindset with exceptional attention to detail.
* Experienced in the use of and experimentation with A.I. as a copilot, or at least genuinely receptive and excited to experiment with AI design tools and integrate them into your workflow.
* Graphic design experience including layout, typography, etc.
* (Bonus) Understanding of physical product touchpoints and how they connect to digital experiences.
Personal Profile
* Experience: Ideally, you've already helped at least one other brand shape digital iOS and Android experiences that complement physical products, working closely with internal design and engineering teams. And while your primary focus will be mobile UX and UI design and product screen layouts, you will be at an advantage if you are able to also demonstrate skills or interest in physical product UX, packaging design, or interface graphics.
* Metrics: You understand how great UI/UX contributes to business growth, helping Cambridge reach new audiences, drive advocacy, and open up new opportunities.
* Drive: You are someone who can keep pushing forward, making sure our brand stays alive, relevant, and ahead of the curve. You are self-motivated and go above and beyond with your time and conscientiousness to deliver exceptional customer experiences.
* Design: You know what good looks like and have a portfolio of projects to match.
* Planning and Project Management: We're a small scaling business; you'll be a natural at spinning plates and keeping things moving forward.
* Great communication skills: The ability to bring everyone into your UI/UX vision and build excitement internally and externally.
* A passion for music and a keen interest in technology.
* Being personable, and easy to work with are all traits we value.
