I’m working exclusively with a growing consultancy that specialises in regeneration and public service transformation across the UK. They partner with local authorities, combined authorities, not-for-profit organisations and central government, helping communities unlock better futures. In this role you’ll work directly with CFOs and senior leaders, applying financial expertise to big-picture change.
As a Senior Consultant, you’ll bring financial insight to transformation programmes, local government reorganisations and service redesign. You’ll analyse budgets, Medium-Term Financial Strategies and accounts to identify risks, opportunities and realistic savings. You’ll help model future service and structural configurations, shape transformation business cases and provide clear, strategic advice that supports decision-makers. Every project has a value-for-money focus, so your work will have measurable, lasting impact.
We’re looking for a qualified accountant - CIPFA is ideal but other qualifications will be considered. Candidates from both public and private sector backgrounds are welcome, though experience in local government finance, audit of public sector accounts or transformation work is highly relevant. You’ll need to be confident operating in politically sensitive environments, with excellent problem-solving and communication skills. Strong report writing and the ability to present to senior stakeholders are key.
