Overview:
We are seeking an immediately available experienced leader for a key finance role, responsible for overseeing Accounting and Financial Reporting team and ensuring operational excellence and high standards in service delivery. The ideal candidate will bring expert leadership and management skills along with a proven ability to drive efficiencies, mitigate risk, communicate with confidence, and support the strategic aims of internal and external stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
* Provide effective leadership and line management to Accounting and Financial Reporting teams, acting as the escalation point for complex matters
* Develop and execute strategies to improve performance and deliver results against agreed targets and KPIs
* Ensure all statutory, regulatory, and internal process requirements are met
* Proactively identify and drive projects focused on process improvement and risk reduction
* Lead key strategic initiatives in finance and reporting
* Collaborate with senior management and stakeholders across the business to support common goals
* Promote a culture of high performance, continuous development, and positive employee engagement
* Identify and implement opportunities for cost savings and revenue generation within the finance function
* Ensure quality assurance and compliance reviews are completed and signed off appropriately
* Support audit processes and act as a primary contact for related queries
* Maintain accurate and timely delivery of financial reporting outputs according to contractual and service-level agreements
Person Specification:
* Qualified: ACCA, ACA, CIMA
* Strong leadership and team development skills
* Proven experience of managing and improving accounting processes and controls.
* Excellent communication, mentoring, and stakeholder management abilities.
Job Title: Interim Head of Accounting and Financial Reporting
Location: Birmingham City Centre (on-site, 5 days/week)
Duration: 6 Month Contract
Day Rate: £350-£400 per day
