Introduction Early Childhood Educator - Blackburn Make a real difference working within our Education Team as an Early Childhood Educator, partnering with leaders to support the teams who make a meaningful difference in the lives of people with vision and hearing loss. This is a Permanent Part-Time opportunity ( 22.8 hours per week) reporting directly to the Director Kindergarten Blackburn and will work onsite at our Blackburn Location. Description What we can offer you: Salary of up to $85,453 Super, with 100% salary packaging to maximise your take home pay. Generous leave entitlements including 2 weeks paid Christmas leave in addition to 4 weeks annual leave, plus extensive personal/carer's leave. You’ll make a difference in this role by: Planning and supervising adjacent program areas. Taking detailed, written observations of the children and implement more formal assessment processes. Working with groups of children in planned group activities. Assisting in the implementation of the daily routine completing tasks and activities. Assisting in the preparation, implementation and evaluation of developmentally appropriate programs for individual children or groups. May be required to independently deliver educational programs to children in the absence of the teacher. Carrying out administrative duties which relate to effective room management and child care responsibilities. Assisting with the supervision of volunteers, students on placement or undertaking work experience. Supporting children with their hearing devices and technology, check hearing devices at the commencement of each session and provide supports during sessions as required. Any other reasonable duties as requested by your manager. Skills And Experiences About You: Certificate III and/or Diploma in Children's Services. Experience working with young children in a kindergarten or childcare setting. Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team providing services to children and their families. Well-developed communication skills. Experience working with children who are deaf or hard of hearing. Knowledge of the Victorian Early Years Development Framework. A working knowledge of hearing aids, radio frequency units and speech processors. You are obliged to become familiar with, and comply with child protection policies and legislation, as amended from time to time. Valid Working With Children Check and National Criminal Record Check (or willingness to obtain).
