What you’ll do
- Lead the annual budgeting cycle, working closely with the VBSE leadership team to set stretching but achievable targets.
- Steer financial forecasting, shaping short‑term rolling outlooks and long‑term models for the full P&L.
- Prepare and publish monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, providing clear variance analysis.
- Create KPIs and performance metrics that highlight trends and enable proactive decision‑making.
- Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to strengthen internal controls.
- Manage cost control across CoS, capex, opex, including a significant headcount budget.
- Oversee accounting operations, including cost accounting and revenue recognition, partnering with FinOps.
- Provide robust financial modelling and insights to support strategic initiatives, investment decisions and operational change.
- Lead and grow the Commercial Finance & Billing & Collections team, setting direction, supporting development and driving high performance.
- Act as a key point of contact for FP&A teams and external auditors.
- Manage revenue accrual balances to ensure invoicing, cash collection and contract alignment.
- Meet security requirements including holding Developed Vetting (DV) clearance and maintaining client confidentiality.
Who you are
- Extensive finance and accounting experience with a strong track record of driving financial performance.
- Current DV clearance or eligibility and willingness to undergo DV vetting.
- Ability to interpret complex financial data and translate it into actionable recommendations.
- Strong communication skills, comfortable presenting to non‑financial audiences.
- Experience leading, motivating, and developing high‑performing teams.
- Strong commercial acumen and confidence holding senior stakeholders to account.
- Experience in Finance Transformation (desirable).
- Recognised qualification such as CIMA, ACA, or ACCA.
- Solid understanding of Accounting Principles and IFRS, especially IFRS 15.
