As a Part 145 EASA/FAA and TCCA Approved Workshop facility, Rotable Repairs provides quality repair and overhaul services for most classic and current generation jet & turbo prop aircrafts trusted by airlines and aerospace organisations all over the world. JOB SUMMARY: The Managing Director/Accountable Manager holds overall responsibility for the leadership, strategic direction, and regulatory compliance of VSE Aviation’s Rotable Repairs subsidiary. The role carries full P&L ownership for the business, with accountability for driving revenue growth, margin improvement, and long-term, financial performance. The Managing Director will champion a culture of operational excellence, identify and pursue opportunities to expand the customer base and service capabilities, and ensure that business results consistently meet or exceed VSE Aviation's strategic and financial objectives. The role further ensures safe, efficient, and profitable operations, aligned with CAA/EASA/FAA Part 145 requirements. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Leadership & Strategy Provide overall business leadership, setting strategic direction and ensuring delivery of operational and financial objectives. Represent the organisation with customers, OEMs, regulators, and corporate stakeholders. Lead a safety-first, regulatory compliant, and performance-driven culture. Regulatory & Compliance Oversight Act as Accountable Manager ensuring all aviation maintenance is carried out in compliance with Part-145 approvals. Establish and promote the company’s safety policy and ensure a strong Safety Management System (SMS). Nominate and oversee senior managers, including Compliance Monitoring and Maintenance Management roles. Liaise with the Compliance Monitoring Manager to ensure system integrity and corrective actions are followed through. Ensure competence of all personnel via structured training, continuation training, and assessment programmes. Ensure necessary finance, manpower, and facilities are available to meet customer and regulatory commitments. Maintain direct liaison with regulators (CAA, EASA, FAA, TCCA), ensuring audit readiness and compliance. Ensure compliance with fees, charges, and obligations to Competent Authorities. Operational & Financial Performance Oversee daily operations, driving efficiency, output, and continuous improvement. Deliver financial targets including revenue growth, margin improvement, and EBITDA. Implement structured performance monitoring, risk management, and reporting frameworks. Corporate Integration & Governance Ensure integration into VSE Aviation’s global systems, policies, and compliance frameworks (HR, Finance, IT, SOX). Maintain accurate corporate reporting and alignment with group strategy. Ensure proper handling of any organisational media relations. People & Culture Lead, motivate, and develop the management team and wider workforce. Promote a culture of safety, compliance, and accountability. Ensure supervision of corrective actions and effective follow-up on compliance findings. Implement structured training and development programmes to maintain workforce competence. Customer & Market Development Maintain and strengthen relationships with airlines, OEMs and key MRO customers. Support commercial strategy, contract negotiation, and business development. Position Rotable Repairs as a trusted, compliant, and competitive MRO partner. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Vocational Qualifications Level 6, Bachelor’s Degree with Honors, Bachelor’s Degrees, PGCE, Graduate Diplomas, Graduate Certificates. Senior leadership experience within an aviation MRO environment. Direct accountability under CAA/EASA/FAA Part 145 approvals. Strong knowledge of aviation safety, regulatory compliance, and airworthiness requirements. Track record in contract negotiation, business development, and customer relationship management. Financial acumen with experience in EBITDA, margin management, and cost control. Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills. PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS: Experience with multi-site or international MRO operations. Demonstrated success in corporate integration and governance.
