Overview
Night Driver - Casual Worker at Biocair, based at our London Heathrow office, with Monday to Friday night shifts ranging between 22:00 and 07:00. This is a casual night driver role with the flexibility to pick and choose the nights you work.
Biocair is a provider of specialist logistics solutions to the global scientific community. The role focuses on transporting time-critical and temperature-sensitive consignments (including medicines or samples) in a safe, careful, and timely manner while maintaining high levels of customer care.
Responsibilities
* Ensuring all the correct documentation is accurately completed and processed with the shipment.
* Maintaining a clean, tidy, and safe warehouse; ensuring materials are stored in designated areas; checking fridges, freezers, and warm room temperatures and maintaining accurate records thereof.
* Reporting shortfalls of packaging stock to maintain minimal stock levels and keeping relevant storage logs with high accuracy.
* Responsible for the cleanliness of the vehicles and carrying out daily and weekly vehicle maintenance checks and simple maintenance tasks as required.
* Building positive working relationships with other drivers, departments, and management to deliver excellent communication and customer service; working proactively to overcome problems and implement process improvements.
Requirements and competencies
* Excellent customer service skills.
* Must hold a current, full Category B driving licence (maximum of 3 points).
* Previous commercial van driving experience (e.g., Mercedes Sprinter MWB/LWB, Mercedes Vito, Maxus eDeliver9 or similar).
* Confident driving a manual transmission.
* Demonstrable experience of working well under time pressure and the ability to check and maintain accurate documentation.
* Experience of working within a cold chain or time-sensitive multimodal freight forwarding or pharmaceutical industry (ideally in a logistics setting) is highly desirable.
* Resilience, the ability to build strong working relationships, and being a true team player.
